Our conference is not just about student research. We have several career and personal development opportunities, a large part of which is our panel discussions. These are opportunities to learn about careers in the field of optics from industry and academic speakers with experience to share. We have three panel discussions scheduled, the descriptions of which are below:

Our Industry Panel is composed of engineers and optical scientists from our sponsor companies. In this 45 minute Q&A session, our panelists will speak of their own experiences, and answer questions from the crowd. These speakers have confirmed to be a part of our panel:

Our Academia Panel is composed of professors young and old. In this 45 minute session, they will share with us about grants, funding, post docs, and their own personal advice. These speakers have confirmed that they will be panelists for this session.

  • Dr. Volker Sorger, George Washington University, and a keynote speaker.
  • Dr. Robert Norwood, College of Optical Sciences.
  • Dr. Michael Marcellin, Regents Professor in ECE and Optics.
